Congratulation to Tostan Mali 
248 communities abandoned Female Genital Cutting during a public declaration on Sunday, December 27, 2020, in the villages of Farakoro and Kèrèla. They were accompanied by the National Coordinator of Tostan, Representatives of the Regional Directors for the Promotion of Women, Children and the Family of Koulikoro and Ségou as well as customary, communal and religious leaders.
Funded by UNFPA Mali, UNICEF Mali, the Canadian Embassy, and several other partners, the joint UNFPA-UNICEF program is being implemented by Tostan in the circles of Dioila (Koulikoro region) and Barouéli (Segou region) to accelerate the abandonment of FGC, ChildMarriage, and other harmful practices, in favor of the elimination of gender based violence in Mali.
