Journalist, Monica Karlstein, interviews Tostan’s Founder and Executive Director, Molly Melching, about Tostan’s holistic three-year education program, the Community Empowerment Program (CEP), in the context of the movement to end female genital cutting (FGC). The piece also includes a personal story about Marietou Diarra, a Senegalese woman who lost her daughter because of the negative health consequences of FGC.
