In 2015, we will officially launch our new Training Center in Thiès, Senegal. The Center will be dedicated to serving individuals and groups that share our commitment to human dignity and transformative learning, with the ultimate goal of building the capacities of communities to pursue their own vision for development.

The Center will eventually offer a range of trainings, all using a participatory and learner-centered approach which draws its strength from the expertise of our trainers with extensive experience implementing our three-year Community Empowerment Program in rural Africa.

As a step towards building our larger curriculum, the Tostan Training Center team is currently working to develop a unique set of test trainings. During these two-week courses, participants will gain expertise in Tostan’s human rights-based educational approach, social norms theory, and community-led development, will acquire knowledge on our strategy for program implementation, and will have the opportunity to visit Tostan partner communities leading their own development initiatives.

We are eager to receive feedback from those interested in receiving training on our model for community-led development and we have today launched an online survey to allow your insights and perspectives to help shape our training courses.

The survey should only take around ten minutes to complete and is available in both:

French and English.

It will remain online until September 18th 2013.
