Gender Equity and Inclusive Leadership
- 7 of the 18 women elected as municipal councillors in The Gambia were former participants of Tostan’s Community Empowerment Program (CEP), demonstrating the growing role of women in leadership.
- 430 youth were elected to Community Management Committees, strengthening intergenerational leadership and ensuring the voices of young people shape their communities’ future.
Health and Wellbeing
- 28,000 children were vaccinated through CMC-led health campaigns, ensuring better protection and healthier futures.
- 132 communities publicly declared the abandonment of female genital cutting and child marriage.
- 824 latrines were built, contributing to improved sanitation and reducing the risk of diseases.
Education and Civil Registration
- 10,000 children were enrolled in primary school for the first time, giving them the tools for a brighter future.
- 2,500 children were legally registered, securing their access to education, healthcare, and legal protection.
Environment and Sustainability
- 1,724 improved cookstoves were constructed, reducing deforestation and cutting down on cooking time for families, contributing to environmental sustainability.
