The communities of Aly Woury and dozens of neighboring communities publicly declared their commitment to abandon the practices of female genital cutting (FGC) and child marriage. This was on December 22 in Fouta, Senegal.
Declarations such as this one take place regularly in our partner communities in West Africa. They are the result of a long process that takes place over three years around Tostan’s Community Empowerment Program.
We are proud of the work the communities do on a daily basis.
